‘Once a year, go someplace you have never been to – Dalai Lama’ this, as you know, is my mantra.

MY TWO CENTS

These are amazing words to live by but man I am mad as hell because 2020 be playing mad games with everyone with this Coronavirus. I am so upset because I had a trip to Canada booked and was excited and ready to go, only for me to realize that it was not going to happen. To top it off I really wanted to take the trip because my visa will expire in a few months and when I say a few I mean very few lol.

Now, feel free to comment and let me know how you feel, but for me personally, I have mixed emotions about everything being opened and back to business as usual. I personally will take some time before I decide to travel outside of the country just to let things settle a bit so in the meantime I will just stick to staying within the island. If you are traveling though just ensure that you assess the risk that it may entail first before making the decision.

Maybe now following the impact of the pandemic health may now play a more major role in traveling. A detailed health check may have to be carried out before leaving a country. The impact that this pandemic has had on the world and the digital world has been quite an event to watch. I myself have been going a bit more into getting better where the digital world is concerned. I suggest that persons take the time and really check out how they can make use of the internet at this point in time.

TRAVEL AND HOTEL INDUSTRY

With the whole concept of places beginning to now open up I can see where this pandemic is going to maybe leave a mark as to what would be allowed, what would be expected. For me right now I believe that I have a preference for travel to countries or places that are less crowded, quiet, and serene. Under normal circumstances, it would be a mixture but for now, I think less is better.

LOCAL BUSINESSES

Now more than ever though is the time to explore your country, support local business, get the real local experience. Some persons can be so eager to travel, yes it is great, its fun, but why not learn some more about your country first, what are its hidden gems, what activities are there to do things like that. Now is the time to buy things locally, support your country during this time to help with their sustainability throughout this difficult period.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if you have to travel or decide to travel just remember:

✔ Check the information about where you are going as it relates to COVID.

✔ Clean you hands often. Wash them for minimum 20 seconds.

✔ Keep at least 6ft away in distance.

✔ Avoid putting your hand in your face, don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth.

✔ Wear a face-covering made of cloth when in public.

✔ Cover coughs and sneezes.

My aim is for adventurers like myself to be more aware of activities that are there to do also while being able to work remotely.
