Fun Things to do in St. Elizabeth Jamaica when you visit can be a little difficult to find sometimes. There are more than enough but these are just a few. This is a parish that holds a great history of the island. It is popular for places such as Accompong which is a Maroon Village as well as Treasure Beach which is a lovely community by the sea where you have great accommodation and places to eat. These are things to do in Santa Cruz.

Is St. Elizabeth safe to explore?

In Jamaica, St. Elizabeth is considered to be a low crime rate area. It is a safe environment for you to explore the area but it never hurts to be cautious anywhere you go.

What is St. Elizabeth in Jamaica known for?

St. Elizabeth Jamaica is known for quite a few things. It is one of the oldest parishes on the island of Jamaica as well as it is known for its Maroon Village called Accompong. Fishing is also another popular activity in this area as well as quite a few more well-known attractions.

4. Do the J. Charles Swaby’s Black River Safari.

5. Visit Lovers Leap and learn about the history.

Lovers leap is one of the top things to do in St. Elizabeth must visit location if you are ever in St. Elizabeth. It holds a lot of history about two lovers. If you love learning about things that happened decades ago then Lovers Leap is the place to visit.

6. Eat at Lovers Leap’s restaurant and take photos by the Lighthouse.

7. Visit Bubbling Spring Mineral Bath and enjoy the feels.

Bubbling Spring cannot be missed when in the area it boasts some beautiful colors and seems like a great way to just rest, relax and unwind.

8. Go on an adventure with Captain Dennis. (Sea adventure with a picnic stop)

9. Visit the Mud Palace Gallery to see some great handmade artwork.

10. Visit Breadnut Valley Estate if you can.

I am unsure if Breadnut is currently open to the public. I believe they are open to reservations for weddings and special events, but who knows, try your luck!

11. Drive along Holland Bamboo and take pictures. ✔✔✔

This is a must-do when you are in St. Elizabeth, as you pass this stretch you always see persons taking pictures and just having a grand time, sometimes on the sidewalk and sometimes even in the middle of the road.

12. Try some curry goat from one of the shops while going through Holland Bamboo.

13. Visit middle quarters and get some nice pepper shrimp!✔✔✔

When getting peppered shrimp n middle quarters just be prepared to see a wide range of sellers so choose wisely.

14. Visit Border and get some nice fish!

15. Visit Accompong Town.

16. Stay at a great hotel, villa or guesthouse in Treasure Beach! ✔✔✔

17. Grab a boat and head out to Floyd’s Pelican Bar.

18. Visit Font Hill Beach.

19. Visit Irie Safari and Swamp Buggies.

20. Spot Lacovia Tombstone and take a picture.

21. Visit St. Elizabeth Parish Church because of its history. It was built from the 1700’s.

22. Have a look at what remains at the Black River Spa.

23. Visit Independence Park.

24. Check out Appleton Railway station.

25. Check out Balaclava Railway station.

26. Go look at Invercauld’s Georgian architecture.

  1. Nice list. I’ve done 11 of these activites. Bubbling Spring never looked appealing to me when driving past and I’ve heard the water/sanitation is not great, but perhaps I should visit and form my own opinion. Jamaica Zoo remains on the list though, and I’ve never actually bought curry goat in Holland Bamboo. I guess I should!

    1. Ohh nice there are so many things I want to do and I agree it’s good to try them and then base them off your opinion. There are so many places I wanna visit …one day at a time lol
