MOON PALACE JAMAICA

MOON PALACE JAMAICA REVIEW

So yes, I have decided to speak my mind no matter what when I review different places so I shall talk about the Pros and Cons of Moon Palace Resort and if I really want to visit there again.

THE ATMOSPHERE

The atmosphere at this hotel was definitely good. My sister laughed at me when I stepped in because I was like wow, I feel like I am overseas right now because having not traveled since the pandemic has been my longest time away from traveling. On getting there it really wasn’t hard to find. Just put it in on google maps and you are there. I really love the energy from there on entering I just personally didn’t like the crowd.

THE ROOM

The room I stayed in had two beds, the space was a bit tight or small, especially for the price, however, I must say the fact that it came with a fully stocked refrigerator and four bottles of rum to drink at your leisure, along with a complimentary glass of wine and 24-hour room service made it totally worth it lol.

Being there brought back so many memories for me from way back when it was Sunset Jamaica Grande, I felt like that was our go-to family hotel growing up in my family. I definitely will not compare them though because things and times have certainly changed. The room also had a really nice view of the ocean which was nice. They do however have some kinks to figure out as my sister got locked in the bathroom in her room, then her husband got locked up in there the next day.

IS MOON PALACE ADULTS ONLY? (NOPE)

KIDS ACTIVITIES

This was the highlight for me to be honest as this was a family trip it was 6 of us that went with 3 toddlers and three adults. The main goal of this was to have the kids really have that experience and enjoy themself. They had a games room for the older children or the young at heart like myself as well as they have ‘The Playroom Kids Club’ for the toddlers and a Splash Park for them to really enjoy themselves.

Due to COVID and protocols though time in there was limited to 20 minutes. Depending also on the age of your child you can leave them there for a period of time. I must say though they really had fun so that as I said was the highlight of our trip.

FOOD

Now of course, this is always and has always been my favorite topic, FOOD. I must say I was pleased with the variety and the options that were available to you at the hotel. What made it even better is that it all wasn’t just ok this looks good, but the taste was actually great too.

Not the BEST hotel food I have had but it definitely wasn’t the worst. I also think they had a good balance between healthy food vs not so healthy. With the kids and constant on the go we didn’t try the specialty restaurants they have but just looking at the setup they seemed to be good. There will be a YouTube video covering the whole experience soon SO lookout for that!

STAFF

Now here is the bad part. Well, it is not all bad but this part could definitely use some work. Not me but more so my sister felt very ignored as a Jamaican staying at a Jamaican hotel and, to be honest, this has happened before, it is as if the staff is excited over people from other countries or with an accent as if Jamaicans didn’t also pay to be there. I sometimes take these things for granted but it happens.

I can say though that some of the staff were amazing the women at the Kids Club area were great, there was a lady in the dinner area I am so hurt that I forgot her name because I took it because she was just so niceeeee and also the maintenance guys that helped my sister out were great as for the others…..hmmm.

  1. Thanks for sharing this! This hotel came on my radar just for the Flow rider which looks like loads of fun but I’ve heard mixed reviews of the hotels which made me reconsider. Also, the attitude of majority of the staff you interacted with reminded me of a video I saw circulating on social media the other day with this worker talking about how he dislikes Jamaicans at the hotels because we don’t tip or don’t tip as well as foreigners. Disgusting

My aim is for adventurers like myself to be more aware of activities that are there to do also while being able to work remotely.
