CITY MARKET SAVANNAH GEORGIA
City Market is a historic landmark that goes as far back as the 19th century. You can find it right in the heart of Downtown Savannah its is a vibrant spot with many things to do and see such as art galleries, boutiques, souvenir shops and restaurants.
It is actually made up of restored warehouses which gives it a bit of an authentic and charming environment that just enhances Savannah’s rich history. It is also a great spot for live music and entertainment with many talented performers. So if you are just looking to shop, dine or just enjoy some live music in the evenings them City Market Savannah Georgia is a must-see destination.
VINNIE VAN GOGO PIZZA
Vinnie Can GoGo’s is a well known pizzeria located in City Market Savannah Georgia and when I say well known I mean well known, the line that I had to encounter to get a slice not to mention that I almost didn’t get a seat, probably got the last one that was available lol shows just how in demand it is.
It is known for it’s New York style pizza and relaxing environment. The pizza slices are also rather large, they also have specials so if you wish to try something different then that may be a better option for you.
SAVANNAH’S CANDY KITCHEN
Don’t let the name fool you, when you step into this Candy Kitchen, there are many areas to explore. It is quite a delightful confectionery in City Market known for it’s handmade sweets along with many other things such as their gourmet popcorn too.
They showcase candies that are fairly uncommon as well as some ridiculous flavor sodas that you can try such as apple pie soda, bacon soda, jalapeno soda and many more. Would you try these? I sure will! As a visitor to the store you can actually have a look at how some things such as their pralines and fudges are done which brings a different level of excitement to attract more people.
BYRD’S FAMOUS COOKIES
Byrd’s Famous Cookies is known for it’s delicious cookies dating back to as far as 1924. They do your regular traditional cookies but they also have unique ones like Key Lime Coolers which I must say are reallllly good. Probably my favorite at this point. They also allow you to sample the cookies before you decide on a flavor. It is literally a must-stop in City Market Savannah Georgia.
ART AREA
This area in City Market Savannah Georgia provides nothing more exciting than a dynamic area for local artists and craftsmen to showcase their talent. It is filled with galleries, shops and studios which showcased a wide variety of artistic styles such as traditional paintings, sculptures and more.
CITY MARKET CAFE
This is a lovely cozy eatery in the heart of City Market. Their menu features a range of options to suit everyone. It is a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike. They are usually open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They do have light options such as salads and sandwiches. The menu isn’t extensive however it has some great options.
PROHIBITION MUSEUM
The Prohibition Museum gives an interesting look into the history of Prohibition in the United States. It has interactive exhibits and a number of displays where visitors can learn about the bootleggers, rum-runners and speakeasies that were around in that period of time. Also the efforts that were placed on the ban of alcohol.
What’s interesting about the museum though, is that you can actually get alcohol there to drink and feel what it was like years ago when you had to drink in hiding. A great spot for the history buffs like myself.
CARRIAGE TOURS
Carriage Tours are offered in the City Market. It offers a charming and relaxing way to explore the Savannah Historic District. Can you imagine a lovely leisurely ride through the town on those cobblestone streets, looking at those historic homes, not to mention the large oak trees draped with Spanish Moss. You will also get the chance to see some famous landmarks such as Forsyth Park, The Mercer-Williams House and more.
OLD TOWN TROLLEY TOUR
