What is Sunday Reset? (Sunday Reset Meaning)

Firstly, I am not saying to do all of these I am just recommending that you pick a few based on your personality and create a strategy that works for you. Also, don’t forget to grab your copy of the Sunday Reset Checklist to help you kickstart your week right!

SUNDAY RESET IDEAS

  1. Meal Plan

This can be done both ways you can just meal plan or you can meal prep. I am sorry but the Virgo in me makes me write everything down. To meal prep is to really plan and make your meals or at least make them easier to make so it saves a lot of time. I don’t do it as much as I did before but I used to literally make a batch of burritos and store them in my freezer because it was the meal that I knew for sure was helping me to gain weight, I would make different types breakfast, lunch and dinner type burritos.

People meal prep for different reasons but ultimately it is to really make life easier. If you don’t wish to meal prep then you can just plan, I do that sometimes too when I don’t have the time to meal prep, it still makes life easier as I don’t have to be thinking about what I am going to make every day…ESPECIALLY with the very picky toddler that I have. Meal planning can also help you to budget better and plan your supermarket trips wisely. It’s a wonderful way to Sunday reset. This brings us to the next….

2. Check Your Budget

Now it is Sunday and the week is about to get started, you don’t want to get lost and caught up in the fast pace movement so since it’s Sunday and you are just relaxing then take the time to review your finances to make sure you are on track, see what you maybe need to cut back or if you could maybe treat yourself. Every October or November I try to get my budget book and planners to make sure I am able to plan all these things during the new year. Here is a great budget planner that I love!

3. Meditate

Meditation, I am discovering, is one of the hardest things I have ever done….hardest…but I am seeing improvement and I would recommend it, not just for Sunday reset but every day if possible. It really does help you, you can choose to do it in the morning or at night, just take a few minutes and get it done.

4. Plan Your Week

Again the planner in me recommends that you plan your week, know when you will be having meetings when you will take lunch, etc. For me, I had a huge problem I planned and timed everything that I didn’t even give myself little breaks and time to breathe in between, then I became aware and mindful of that. One of the greatest additions or things that have been helping me has been the On Purpose Podcast with Jay Shetty You may not be a planner but trust me it helps. It won’t always work or go as planned TRUST me, half of the time, if not more it won’t but it is having that guide throughout the week.

5. Go Outside

Sunday Reset

Take a few minutes or do some kind of exercise such as reading a book, taking a walk, having a run, grounding, or anything just step outside for a bit. Great way to clear your mind and again reset.

6. Go Offline or Off The Grid For a Bit

Now I know you may not want to, being the extrovert that you are lol but it’s ok, to take a little time for yourself. Now I am not saying don’t talk to anyone. I actually recommend that you call a loved one or two and have some good conversations but for the most part make this your time to unwind, unravel and prepare for the week ahead, minimize social media usage and whatever you can do to just set that peaceful, quiet environment.

7. Journal

Another wonderful Sunday reset idea is journaling. Take a few minutes and write, sometimes you may not even know what to write about but the internet is full of journal prompts to help you with that.

8. Self Care

Self-care can be whatever you want it to be, just take a little time to focus on yourself, maybe get your nails done, your hair, a nice massage, whatever it is, you can switch it up every week just love on you!

9. Restock Fridge

You definitely want to consider restocking your fridge on Sunday, this may not apply to everyone but again, saves time during the week. I recently got these fridge organizers from Amazon and they are EVERYTHING! I made sure to get some with lids and some without and they make organizing and restocking sooooo much easier, especially if you have a toddler. I not only use them for the fridge but the freezer too!

10. Have Your Favorite Meal and Nourish Your Body

Yes!! Where are my foodies lol, might be hard to pick a favorite but yes, eat up, get some good food in your system, cook or go to a restaurant, or just do take out but you indulge in some nice good food and embrace every bite, best part of Sunday rest for me lol.

11. Go to bed early

My struggle here, but I know it doesn’t have to be and neither should it be for you, just try and go to bed early, disconnect, unwind and sleep. Put together an amazing bedtime routine, tuck yourself in and nap time.

12. Declutter

Take a little time to declutter your space and mind, maybe you need to tidy up a little, clear your e-mails, and take off those unnecessary photos you have on your phone. Whatever it is clear your mind and environment for the week ahead.

13. Clear your inbox

This links to decluttering, just take a few minutes and clear out your inbox. I can talk about this one, in the past, you would see in my inbox 15,000 emails literally because I subscribe to any and everything, but it has drastically toned down, I unsubscribed from the things I really wasn’t paying attention to and so should you!

14. Prep for Mom/Dad Life

If you are a parent take this time to prepare and do whatever needs to be done for your kids week ahead, whether it is meal prepping, preparing school uniforms, re-checking homework, or whatever it is, take the time to do so. Also, I would recommend doing something with them maybe going for a walk, getting ice cream, or playing some board games. I think people have forgotten about board games in our era but with my toddler, we found board games and she loves them.

15. Plan Outfits

Now the recurring theme of this post is to plan, plan what you are going to wear for the entire week, that saves a lottttt of time for the women in the mornings when getting ready as you won’t be going back and forth trying to figure out what to wear. Although in all honesty, I know sometimes you may have something in mind then that changes. However, I think planning it just puts you in a better place to save more time and energy.

16. Set Goals and Intentions

My go-to phrase is to be intentional so in the week to come what are you working on or trying to accomplish? It could be something as simple as noticing when it is time to take a breath. It could literally be anything as long as it is something you are working towards, it could be big and it could be small this is the reason and purpose of Sunday reset because sometimes we set these goals and end up missing them well the Sunday reset just gives you the chance to start again and move forward. As John C. Maxwell says ‘Sometimes you Win, Sometimes you Learn’.

17. Read

Grab a book, whatever kind you like, and just get lost in it for a little while. You decide how long and when you want to include this in your day.

18. Pay Bills

Yes guys…you can pay the bills during Sunday Reset, it doesn’t have to be paid last minute or have to be scouring through the week to pay them whether online or in a physical location. Just within your monthly plan choose one of those Sunday reset days and dedicate it to covering all your utility expenses.

19. Charge all your electronics

I believe this is one of the best things to do on a reset Sunday, just charge all your electronics to make your life easier. Yes, the phone will definitely need to recharge before the end of the week along with some other devices, but if you charge them up on Sunday they will save you some time and unnecessary added effort during the week to come.

20. Sleep in or Not…Do whatever you like

This one is up to you, you can get up at your usual time and just relax in bed for a little while, you can sleep in as late as you want to, that is if you have the time and ability to do so, but that this morning time to just enjoy you for a little bit before the craziness of the day begins.

21. Be present and mindful.

There is no better way to do Sunday Reset than to be present and mindful in everything you do, down to savoring every flavor of the food that you eat, seeing the things around you, listening to the sounds you hear just being super-mindful about everything

22. Evaluate your Week

Now, of course, you want to take a few minutes to evaluate the past week, was it good, did you meet the goals you had set out if not….then what? Sunday Reset!!! I have said this about a million times it’s really just to say that nothing is final.

SUNDAY RESET ROUTINE

Now you can choose from all the different options listed, you don;t have to do all just find the ones that work for you and stick to it.

Look at your Sunday reset as your fresh start for the week, forget about the past and the past mistakes and failures, and just do you boo! You can use these Sunday reset ideas to create your one Sunday reset routine, I promise you, you will wake up Monday feeling relaxed and ready to take on the week coming.
