THINGS TO DO IN HANOVER JAMAICA

To be honest, Hanover isn’t a place that I have explored as much as I would love to. However, as you know the entire island is on my To-Do List, here however are some activities that I know of which that I really want to experience and this listing may also be helpful to you as we are Bucket Listing together as a family! It can sometimes be hard or tricky to find many activities in Hanover Jamaica. Due to Hanover being so close to Montego Bay many people will say somewhere is located in Montego Bay when it is really in Hanover.
What is Hanover known for?
Hanover is known as the area where a known national hero Alexander Bustamante was born, it is also known for its Yam and livestock rearing.
1. Go for a swim at Orchard Beach but be safe, go with a group of friends just in case.
2. Learn more about the history of the island and visit Fort Charlotte.
3. Go see and take pictures of the historical Hanover Parish Church.
4. If you are a history buff like me, you want to go find and check out Kenilworth Ruins.
5. You definitely want to check out Chukka Ocean Outpost at Sandy Bay and do one or all of the activities they have available.
6. Go and have a nice swing at Campbelton Mountain Adventures (I hope you are not scared of heights), but if so do some other adventures with them such as ATV. Campbelton offers ATV, Swing and Hike adventures. So if those sound like adventures for you, by all means, take a trip there.
7. There is a little island called Booby Cay Island, find a way to get over there and explore it, there isn’t much to it but water and trees, but it’s always great to explore.
8. Make sure you stay by one of the many Villas or All Inclusive Hotels. ✔✔✔
9. Go bamboo rafting on the Great River.
10. Most people think this is in Montego Bay but you can go and swim with dolphins at Dolphin Cove.
11. Visit Kool Runnings if they reopen….
12. Check out Missile Adventure Park.
13. Try a nice restaurant.
Where is Hanover located?
Hanover Jamaica can be found in Cornwall County. The capital of Hanover is Lucea, because of its proximity to Montego Bay and it’s a popular tourist destination, many places are said to be located in Montego Bay when they are really located in Hanover Jamaica. Also note that a part of Negril is in Hanover.

Hanover has a few beaches that you can check out if you like exploring. Remember when exploring anywhere on the island you want to explore with caution.
