HOPE ZOO KINGSTON JAMAICA

Hope Zoo Kingston Jamaica

I am happy to say that I have visited hope zoo over the years, but even more so now that I have a daughter. I brought her to Hope Zoo in January 2021 and again in January 2022. The reason for bringing her again is because I glimpsed a video of a camel and thought oh..maybe she would like to see that. Little did I know that they had a few other activities that she could indulge in.

I am just happy with Hope Garden in general between Funland and Hope Zoo as I realized it is really a challenge to find things to do with a toddler. (If you have any activity suggestions please let me know in the comment section below.

How much is it to enter Hope Zoo?

To enter Hope Zoo, you have to pay $200 for parking. If you aren’t driving then there is no cost to enter Hope Garden compound.

To enter the zoo as of January 2022. It is

$1500 for 12 years and older.

$1000 for a child who is anywhere between the ages of 2-11.

$1000 for seniors who are 65 years and older.

Free for children under 2.

Then of course, if it is a large group there is a discount. (That is over 25 people)

Things to do at the Zoo

For these activities, I would suggest you call in advance just to make sure they are available when you want to visit as there are some time constraints.

BUDGIE FEEDING

This activity allows you to feed birds. They literally fly right into your hands for the feeding. You will feel little pricks from their legs but nothing serious. It’s actually rather interesting to do watch as well.

CAMEL FEEDING

They also allow you to feed one of the many camels that they have. I was actually surprised at the number they had. I thought it was just one but it was maybe around 5…(don’t hold me to that)

GUIDED TOURS

If you are interested in doing a guided tour for a school, birthday party, family, etc, then you can organize this with them at +1 876-927-1085 | 970-2459 | 977-7769.

TORTOISE FEEDING

They also allow you to feed the tortoises. I didn’t do this activity though lol.

BARN ANIMAL FEEDING

They allow you to feed the barn animals, namely the goats. Never fed a goat before but did do it, don’t know if I would again though…lol 😛

What Animals are at Hope Zoo?

Hope Zoo Kingston Jamaica

Let’s touch on the animals for a bit. Now back in University when I would visit there I used to complain about the one lion that was there at the time if anyone remembers.

What I was happy to see was the new variety of animals that are there. Some of the animals we saw were Camels, Kangaroos, Turkey, Owl, Birds, Goat, Chicken, Rabbit, Peacocks, Monkeys, Snakes, Ostrich, Flamingos, Tortoises, Zebras, Miniature Horses, Crocodiles, a Lion and Lioness.

I did go kind of early so maybe some animals were still asleep so I didn’t really get to see them in action. I however was just happy to see the new additions. I was also able to talk with Mrs. Valerie Brown who was most helpful who made me privy to a few more animals they are trying to add and I am excited about that.

I would recommend you do take a visit there just to see the changes and to learn about these new animals and if you have kids, they will enjoy it. They also have a kiddies playground too with slides, swings, etc.

I won’t post many of the pics because I want you to go see for yourself. 😁

If you visit feel free to reach out to me on Instagram and tell me what your thoughts were.

Is food available at the Zoo?

Yes, there is a spot where you could grab a quick bite inside the zoo. There is a hut that has things such as your quick snacks, or things a bit more filling such as hot dogs, fries etc. that you could purchase.

My aim is for adventurers like myself to be more aware of activities that are there to do also while being able to work remotely.
