CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS
Table of Contents
Let’s Talk Christmas Traditions, now maybe I watch too many movies but for me, I honestly have not really done anything Christmas-wise in years, especially since 2015 to be honest. Growing up Christmas day was fun with my family, it was usually me, my sister, my mom, and dad. Lately, it’s been my daughter and I, so last year we went by my aunts, this year, I don’t know what the plan is yet. How about you? How are your Christmas plans going? What are your Christmas traditions like? Let me know in the comment section below!
HOW I WANT IT TO BE IN THE YEARS TO COME
So for me and the Christmas Tradition celebration, it is surrounded by many things. As my daughter starts to get older I have a vision for what I want Christmas to look like. Here are some of the things I would love to do:
SHOPPING
Let’s start from the shopping process, for gifts and decorations – shopping isn’t usually so hectic unless I am changing the theme of the tree. My theme this year is the regular, some might even say boring Christmas colors. I wanted to do it that way because it is what I did last year but I never blogged or vlogged about it so fresh start.
GET TOGETHERS
The Christmas Tree Lighting Get Together is the next step. We did that last year and it was really good however we know now with COVID that will not be happening. At the tree lighting, we pretty much decorate the tree, play music, eat food, and have fun. A Christmas Theme Picnic should also be somewhere in the mix. Maybe the picnic could happen before Christmas Eve – since people might have plans on Christmas Eve itself.
CHRISTMAS EVE
Then on Christmas Eve if no picnic it would be baking cookies with my little one as we would both be learning lol. Then of course we take photos, play board games and enjoy the night then go to sleep in our Christmas PJ’s.
CHRISTMAS DAY
Then in the morning on Christmas Day, we open gifts and enjoy the festivities, take more photos etc. then we head to church or vice versa as that is the main reason for the festivities. Then I would do my usual volunteer activities with my family then head home cook an amazing family dinner and invite family and friends over to indulge.
BOXING DAY
Then last but definitely not least think of a great way to keep my moms memory alive each year as she was laid to rest on Boxing Day 2015. So whether its to go visit her graveside, or go to the lookout point which I usually do with friends etc. It would be different each year.
