I know not everyone wants to know but I thought I would share a few of the books on my bookshelf that I value, of course, there are many more but just naming a few of my favorites, I might update it with more in the future. These are the best books which everyone should read in my opinion.
If you knew me from years ago one of my biggest fears was talking to people or if I did they could hardly hear me, there was no confidence whatsoever. To this day my friends say they can barely hear me when I speak when I sometimes feel like I am shouting. Some of these books are what got me out of that.
BEST BOOKS FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

This is a good devotional to either start your day or end your day with depending on when you prefer doing that. Joyce Meyer helps you reflect for the 365 days of the year. Each day comes with a scripture, a little reflection, and a prayer. Enjoy, it’s one of the best books to read for spiritual growth.
THE 15 INVALUABLE LAWS OF GROWTH by John C. Maxwell
To this day John C. Maxwell is my favorite author. Why? His books just blow my mind all the time I see his books as him teaching. So when I read his books I am always learning and growing into the best me.
This specific book really got me to work on myself, each chapter had things for me to do in order to fully grasp and activate what I read. If you are looking to grow yourself definitely have a read.
HOW TO HAVE CONFIDENCE AND POWER IN DEALING WITH PEOPLE by Les Giblin
Another great read. I struggled in this area so much and I believe this book helped me the most. It broke down and compartmentalized so many areas where you can look at it from every angle as to how to work on you, how to pay attention to others, even how to be polite while at the same time enhancing your confidence.
I believe that is very important as sometimes we get stuck on Me, Me, Me.
MAKE IT COUNT: TIPS ON UNLOCKING YOUR VISION by Nicole McLaren Campbell
As a Jamaican, I can say our very own Nicole McLaren Campbell has an amazing book that really helped me gain focus and she shared some real-life experiences which I could definitely relate to which made the book even better.
Don’t want to give it away but she highlights some key areas that she believes need to focus on in order for us to really increase our potential and I totally agree with them. Read it now to find out what they are. She also has another book that I still need to read called Thrive or Survive?: Tips on Choosing the Life you LOVE to Live
THE FINANCIAL DIET: A TOTAL BEGINNERS GUIDE TO GETTING GOOD WITH MONEY by Chelsea Fagan
This book was very helpful as I worked on figuring out my spending habits. It even goes as far as to give you budget recipe ideas. It is exactly as the book is called, the financial diet shows you different areas in your life where you can cut costs and how.
This is the reason why this is one of the best books which everyone should read as this is a growing issue around the world.
WIRED THAT WAY by Marita Littauer
This is a great book that really looks at personalities, it helps you to understand yourself as well as others and as such you know how to interact with them. It really teaches you about yourself and your personality
THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES: THE SECRET TO LOVE THAT LASTS by Gary Chapman
This is a great book to read as it helps to build your relationships. I believe that couples can read it together to help in their relationship and to help them understand each other a little better.
GRIT: THE POWER OF PASSION AND PERSEVERANCE by Angela Duckworth
GRIT is all about persevering and sticking to your word when all else is going wrong. It is about pushing through with that vision you have for your life no matter what. It’s another excellent read. Perseverance is key!
TOUGH TIMES NEVER LAST, BUT TOUGH PEOPLE DO! by Robert Schuller
I think the name of this book says it all. This book helped me to understand that life comes, and life hits….no matter what. It is however my responsibility to make sure that when it comes and comes hard I don’t just give up. Believe me, I have gotten quite a number of hits…but I’m tough!
I hope you see some form of value in these books and give them a read! You might just like it! Remember: Leaders are readers!
